Doula Deliveries

Savannah & Surrounding Areas

Doula Deliveries was formed by two women who saw a need in the Savannah area for support during pregnancy, childbirth and in new motherhood.

Their combined training in Yoga, Massage, Childbirth Education, Birth Support and Postpartum Support make them a unique team to meet many needs during this exciting time in your family’s life.

Ann Carroll is based in Savannah Georgia. She started practicing Integral Hatha Yoga® in the early 90’s as a way to combat stress in her job and personal life. After realizing the astounding benefits relating to stress and the workplace, she chose to attend a four week live-in teacher training at the Satchidanada Ashram near Buckingham Virginia in 2000. Once that program was completed, she began to teach classes in a variety of settings, with the goal of sharing the gift of yoga.

In 2001 she attended another two week teacher training at the same facility specifically addressing bringing yoga into an office or boardroom setting. Subsequent trainings at The Kripalu Institute and the Ashville Yoga Center prepared her to teach Pregnancy Yoga. She is honored to teach that modality because of the incredible benefits her students have experienced before and after delivery.” All of her classes are suitable for people of all ages, physical abilities and walks of life. She is a 500-Level Registered Yoga Teacher through Yoga Alliance, a member of the Integral Yoga Teachers Association and founder and member of The Savannah Area Teachers of Yoga Association (SATYA).

In 2006, Ann decided to pursue training as a Labor Doula and Childbirth Educator, she completed training and was certified early in 2007 and has since helped numerous Mom’s in during their labor and delivery.

Joyce Ann Leaf is a native Savannahian who first ventured on the path of healing arts by becoming one of the first Certified Yoga Instructors in the community and still uses these yoga techniques in her various healing modalities.

Her next field of study was massage therapy and she is currently a Licensed Therapist with training in such varied approaches as Craniosacral, Neuromuscular, Shiatsu, Aromatherapy, and Prenatal Massage.

Her massage work with pregnant women led her to believe that her education in all these healing arts would be of most service to them. And so she continued her education by being trained as a Birth Assistant through CAPPA (Childbirth and Postpartum Association.) Most recently she has become certified as a hypnotherapist specializing in fertility and using hypnosis during birth.
